Where the wheel-thrown work explores the vessel as an object of use, the Sculptural Objects series pushes in the opposite direction — toward form that asks questions rather than performs a task. These pieces are not containers. They are presences.
Trained in architecture and urban design before ceramics, Daniel approaches sculptural work the way an architect considers a building within a city: thinking about how an object occupies space, casts shadow, invites approach. Each piece in this series is an investigation of that spatial thinking translated into clay.
The series draws on Daniel's ongoing exploration of inner being — forms that feel discovered rather than designed, daring and bold, carrying something of the person who made them.
